Celebrating advocacy and inclusion during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Austin, Texas, – In recognition of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, Applichat is highlighting its partnership with the Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities (ACDD).
Since November 2025, Applichat has partnered with ACDD in expanding public awareness and improving how information about disability advocacy and community initiatives reaches self-advocates, families, and community partners across Alabama.
How Applichat Is Supporting ACDD
- Amplifying Advocate Voices: Supporting storytelling initiatives that bring greater visibility to the experiences, leadership, and advocacy of people with developmental disabilities and their families.
- Promoting Community Events: Sharing photos and updates from events to highlight active civic engagement and connect more Alabamians to ongoing advocacy efforts.
- Strengthening Ongoing Updates: Supporting communication channels, including a digital newsletter and regular updates, that help keep advocates, families, and partners informed about council priorities and ways to get involved.
Recognizing Leadership and Impact
The 2026 national theme for Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, “We’re Here. Then. Now. Always.”, recognizes the long history of advocacy by people with developmental disabilities and the work that continues today.
Applichat celebrates the Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities’ leadership across Alabama and is honored to play a small role in helping share and raise awareness of this important work.
